Just over two years ago, in an attempt to take time out of the rat-race, we embarked on a 6-month sabbatical, to scratch our travel itch and see more of the world. The venture was made somewhat easier by the generosity of Ian’s employer, who allowed him to take a 6 month sabbatical with, in theory, a job and a salary waiting at the end of it. (The fact that it didn’t quite turn out that way is documented elsewhere on this web-site!)
We set up this site to catalogue this adventure, our adult gap year, which started at the end of September 2015 and ran through until early March 2016 and you can read all about (and see the pictures) on the “Our Sabbatical” pages and in the “Our Blog” posts.
Well here we are in November 2017, about 18 months since we returned, and about to set off on another adventure, this time not quite so far afield, although in many respects a lot more extreme location than on our travels. We’ve just bought a self-catering holiday-lettings business on the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of Scotland and are in full flight with our preparations to move up there. So it’s time to update this web-site and start a new chapter on our blog which cover our move and then continue into describing our day-to-day life on the Isle of Mull.
We hope you enjoy it!
